Rome is one of the most romantic wedding destination of the world. It has the beauties of the past, stunning architecture and panoramas, glorious churches, fountains and incredible ruins.
Every corner of this city can be a pleasant disclosure with its narrow streets and pastel colors.
That’s why Luca, Italian entrepreneur born in Rome, and Anna Victoria, a famous American fitness blogger, chose the eternal city for their Roman Catholic wedding in Italy.
SANTA MARIA IN ARACOELI – ONE OF THE GREATEST CHURCH IN ROME TO TIE THE KNOT
They tied the knot at lordly Santa Maria in Aracoeli church, one of the greatest and most known Abbey (Basilica) in Rome. It is located just on Capitoline Hill, next to Vittoriano Palace, Rome Town Hall and behind ruins of Roman Forum.
Basilica was built over a Roman Juno Temple and it was converted in a Christian church in VI century AD. Direct access to the church is really special with its magnificent stairways which leads to the top of the hill. Interiors of Santa Maria Aracoeli are very beautiful too: lots of gold, paintings, marble and the richest flooring decorations. The church has 25 internal chapels with famous frescos of famous Italian Renaissance painters.
Even if it rained a bit in the evening, Anna Victoria walked up every step of the stairways with her bridal party before entering the church and walking down the long aisle with her father, to meet Luca at the altar.
Anna Victoria was wearing a sumptuous dress designed by Berta Bridal Couture with a rich train. She looked so beautiful even if she didn’t need that to be pretty. Her bouquet was designed in total white, like the dress, with peonies and roses.
The moment was really solemn and the two newlyweds were very moved.
We were very lucky, no rain at all when they walked out the church together, so that they could took pictures in the surrounding with their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
CELEBRATING AT VILLA MIANI WITH A WEDDING RECEPTION OVERLOOKING ROME SKYLINE
After the ceremony they invited all their guests for a luxurious reception in neoclassic Villa Miani. It is a prestigious venue with stunning view of Rome Skyline – including a superb perspective of famous Saint Peter’s dome. Villa has extensive Italian gardens with statues and a small fountain lake. Villa Miani is located on the top of Monte Mario hill and it was built in 1837 by Count Miani Now it is the right place for big events.
Luca and Anna Victoria chose flower decorations composed by hydrangeas, peonies and roses in shades of white, pink and peach. We placed them in white Medicei vases. They enjoyed their aperitif and the dinner inside the wide Venetian rooms of the first floor where the couple cut the cake and had a first dance surrounded by their friends.
The group then moved on the second floor for the delicious dessert buffet – a riot of colorful homemade cupcakes, cake pops and lovely cookies with fondant cute decoration. Party with music provided by a cool blonde woman DJ could start. They danced the night way and they all had a great time together.
We thank the photographer Bre Thurston and her fantastic crew for the beautiful pictures here.
