Petra e John are a nice couple coming from England but living in America. They decided to tie the knot beautiful city of Rome. They chose to have their wedding ceremony in one of the most important churches of the city: gorgeous church of Santa Maria del Popolo, located in the central square of Piazza del Popolo, right beside the Villa Borghese garden and all the most famous touristic corners such as Spanish steps and Piazza di Spagna. Simply amazing!
The legend says that the church has been built on Emperor Nero’s grave and this gives it a shade of mystery, it is a real public museum as it hosts two important painter Caravaggio paintings such as the crucifixion of St. Peter.
A last interesting information is that it has been chosen to be the last background of a famous movie Angels and Demons by Ron Howard with Tom Hanks based on the story written by Dan Brown.
Let’s go back to Petra and John’s wedding now.
The church was decorated with colourful flowers from red to blue that our floral designer composed with a typical English style.
Petra arrived at the church on an old white Rolls Royce which parked right in front of the church. She wore a vintage and elegant off white dress with a natural style bouquet in light blue. She looked stunning!
Bridesmaids had the same color bouquet but in smaller size.
Roman Catholic wedding ceremony was celebrated by our wonderful priest who is always able to create with the couple an intimate and friendly relationship which is useful to have a customised mass.
As romantic music background couple chose amazing voice of a soprano and the light and elegant sound of an harp. All these details contributed to make a touchy atmosphere.
Once wedding ceremony ended and everybody moved outside the church, all guests and the couple were welcomed by all tourists clapping hands and wishing them luck. It’s been a very funny and moving moment. In italian they all say “Auguri”, “Congratulazioni” and “Viva Gli Sposi” and so it was!
Some pictures in Piazza del Popolo and then guests and bride and groom went with the official wedding photographer to have some pictures around Rome, in some stunning corners such as Piazza di Spagna and Villa Borghese.
The gracious building that hosts the hotel with the stylish décor capturing the grandeur of Neoclassicism, is exclusively designed for those looking for refined luxury in an atmosphere of sophistication and the highest level of welcoming hospitality.
Flora RoofTop Terrace is the perfect setting for a wedding reception as it has a covered elegant by glass windows that allow you to admire the beauty of the landscape. It also has an open air area with lounge sofas where you can breath the light Roman wind having a cocktail watching sunset behind Saint Peter’s basilica.
Going back to Petra and John’s wedding, they decided to have both appetisers and dinner placé open air on the terrace as being July the temperature was warm enough to have dinner outside.
The top table was decorated with floral compositions in high and low glass vases and candles. Petra loved Hydrangeas, roses and carnations and as color palette she loved the blue color with a touch of cream and pale pink.
The music background of voice and piano entertained the event creating a soft and familiar atmosphere.
