Sarah and Markus are a lovely couple living and working in Dubai who decided to tie the knot in Rome, the beautiful city where I live and work.
They chose enchanting Villa Aurelia, one of the most beautiful villas in Rome, for their wedding ceremony and reception.
Discovering Villa Aurelia in Rome
Villa Aurelia is an amazing wedding venue perched in a dominating position on the crest of the Janiculum Hill in Rome.
Villa Aurelia is a property of the American Academy in Rome since 1909 and reopened with a gala opening back in May 2002 after three years of extensive restoration.
The beauty of its gardens, breathtaking view over Rome skyline, and the variety of spaces available, make Villa Aurelia an ideal location for luxury outdoor events such as wedding receptions, dinners and board meetings.
Our bride, Sarah decided to get ready at the villa, in one of the wonderful rooms available for guests. She begin wedding pictures session with some amazing shots at the first floor of the villa which is richly decorated with elegant gold stuccos.
Sarah wore amazing elegant vintage style wedding dress and in her hands she had a pretty wedding bouquet in pastel colours made with roses and peonies that matched all the floral details of the bridal party.
The outdoor symbolic blessing in Villa Aurelia
Bride and groom chose one of the gardens for their symbolic blessing, right under an old tree. It was decorated with a round floral arch. Circle symbolise the perfection of wedding union. It was made with green leaves and pastel colour flowers.
After the ceremony the group enjoyed some appetisers in the close by garden, around the fountain. Fun jazz background music accompanied the moment while Markus and Sarah had their wedding pictures inside Villa Aurelia.
The stunning wedding dinner in Villa Aurelia
Seated wedding dinner was absolutely stunning. Bride and groom wanted three long top tables in the Lemon garden, right in front of Villa Aurelia. Decor was made up with rich high floral centrepieces with candles and lights. On the tables we placed long runners made with leaves and lemons: a traditional Italian style theme.
On the plate we planned a matching wedding menu and on the menu we laid small flower with a customised greeting sentence.
After traditional speeches and cut of the wedding cake, the party moved inside Sala Aurelia for lots of dances and drinks up to early in the morning.
We wish to thank David Bastianoni studio for the stunning pictures of this wonderful wedding at Villa Aurelia in Rome.
